year 8 camp

As the night was coming to an end our final event was Approaching and I couldn't wait until what we were going to do we were going to set up a campfire just outside the camp in the paddock because it was our last night at madison camp. We were going to sing songs and hang out with all your friends.

We all hopped into our groups and started to think of some songs that we called sing we all had a vote for a song. The song that we had to pick was a song that everybody knew and called sing to so it was really hard because not everybody knows the same songs as everybody else and we all liked different kind of songs. But there was one song that I thought of and I knew that everybody knew it rude by magic.

Making our way to the camp fire we sit around it. I sat with my friends we all were excited about each others songs. First off we sang a song from school to get the mood going as everybody was singing the teacher says our name to come and sing our song. I was really shy but I got and sang any way as we finished it was just in time for I jump on my bed and started going to sleep as I was sleeping I was trying to dream what our day was planned for tomorrow.

Last week class panuba did a tangled pattern art because our theme for term four was art attacker. So our teachers thought it was a good idea to do a tangled pattern art which represent our culture and where we came from.

My  piece of artwork was a maori designed which had koros and different kind of patterns. I liked my friends design as well because it looked so cool but I know that my one is better.

After a while I had  finished my design and then had to go over it with felt pens to make it more spectacular.

When I finished my piece of artwork I had to give it to my teacher ms paget so she can put the art work by all the other wonderful art that class panupa did. The next day everybody gathered in the class to look  at our art.

This term our class have been learning how to manger our self. We have been making avatars for our behavior. I reckon I'm at level 2 because I can manage myself properly

Soccer

These past few weeks  every Monday Class 5 have been doing Soccer with our instructor Sophia who plays for a Soccer Team. The first session we had was on the first week of school. At first It felt boring but when I started to learn how to play the game I felt like I was living under a rock all these years.

Most of the time that we have been doing soccer I have been learning new skills like the 3 man move and the quick counter attack these skills are mainly for beginners that are just for beginners like me.

On the second to last week I think was one of the best weeks that we I ever had in soccer because we got to play an actual game where teams were competing the teams were Chilli,Brazil,mexico and more that I can not remember But the team that I was is Chilli.

Sadly this was only last chance to play soccer with Sophia but we all know that this session will be the best this year.Luckily we got to continue  with our last weeks games that we were playing. As we were building up to the end of the session we had the finals which was mexico vs Brazil sadly my team had not came first but luckily not last ever we came third which is not bad either.

Colors of Today

What are the primary colors: The Primary colors are yellow, red and blue they are really useful colors because they can make whole knew different colors when you mix them together like this .

red/blue  equals   purple

yellow/red  equals orange

And those colors are call secondary colors.You get secondary colors by mixing primary colors with Secondary. these  are also amazing colors but these colors make more complicated colors which are called tertiary colors which they are.

All of these colors here are amazing colors But the one color that stands out for me is red and orange because that are so fascinating colors. When I think about colors i think about the world and how we would be without green,red,blue,yellow and so on

Research on the country?

The History of Australia refers to the history of the area and people of the Commonwealth of Australia and its preceding Indigenous and colonial societies. Aboriginal Australians are believed to have first arrived on the Australian mainland by sea from Maritime Southeast Asia between 40,000 and 70,000 years ago. The artistic,musical and spiritual traditions they established are among the longest surviving such traditions in human history.

Rules:  A.F.L is a sport played between two teams of eighteen players on the field of either an Australian football ground Or a modified cricket field, or a similarly sized sports venue. The main way to score points is by kicking the ball between the two tall goal posts. The team with the higher total score at the end of the match wins unless either a draw is declared or a tie-break which then will go into a golden point.

Skills:

Understand the basics of the game. Australian football, or "footy" as it is known the ball is also often referred to as the footy is played on a large oval field 135 - 185 meters long from goal and 110 -115 meters wide and has four large goalposts on each side of the field. Points are scored by kicking goals, which occurs when the football is kicked between the 2 middle goalposts, and behinds, when the ball is kicked through the outside goalposts. Goals are worth 6 points and behinds are worth 1 point. There are 18 players on each side, with 3 interchange bench players and 1 substitute on the side. The ball can be disposed of either by kicking or handballing bumping the ball with the fist similar to volleyball, and goals can only be scored by kicking the ball through the goalposts.

Equipment:

The equipment you need for AFL is football boots, AFL shorts and a AFL singlet. The most important thing you need is a mouth guard. You can have a head guard if you want to use one.

History

In 1857 Tom Wills was  one of the founders of Australian Football league after he returned to Australia after schooling in England where he was football captain of Rugby School and a brilliant cricketer. He advocated the winter game of football as a way of keeping cricketers fit during off-season.

The new game was devised by Wills, his cousin H.C.A. Harrison, W.J. Hammersley and J.B. Thompson. The Melbourne Football Club was formed on August 7, 1858 – the year of the code's first recorded match between Scotch College and Melbourne Grammar School.                                                                                    

Popularity:

In 1857 when A.F.L. was made there were 205,464. Now there are 23,344,735 people in Australia.

Movie Festival

Loading onto to the bus I sit at the end of the bus with my friend Lee. We were going to see a movie festival in the city and only 35 children could only go from different school The first 35 children that brang there 2 dollars and permission slip could go to the film fest.

As we got into town we stopped at a huge door which lead to a big cinema we were the first school that  arrived. Waiting for all the as we were waiting I looked up at the and saw roof and it looked like it was night time. There was stars on the roof. for 30 mins till the presenter came to the stage.

The movie that is my favorite was the dwarfs doing back flips into a pool. That was my favorite part of the day because the animation looked so real. And another animation I like was a green man talking about hair.

Making our way into the hall I see different teacher’s in costumes. All of the teachers are all in costumes except for team 5 teachers. Because they did a movie about what they did in the holidays” The modo for this term is Game On” Mr j says “and we are all going to learn about the commonwealth  games. As i look to the hall all i see is miss Tito riding and triathlon bike. Out of nowhere  Mr Jacobson came down the middle of the hall and put another bike across from Miss Tito. The bike they he put a cross was a road bike That was made out of aluminum fiber and the mountain bike was made out of aluminum and the mountain had springs and the road bike didn't.

The first team that was going talk was team 1 the junior teacher’s. They were making a movie about the different teams that were competing in the commonwealth games. Like New Zealand, Jamaica, Canada and Fiji. But there was one funny countries that a teacher was competing in the commonwealth games it was america. Are you Shaw america in the commonwealth games oops  

I am supposed to be Samoa ha ha.

Team 2 is doing athletes competing in the commonwealth games. The people who are competing in the games I think are very brave because you're going to in a stadium where thousands of people are. But we also got a message from miss queen George about of model game on.

Team 3 was doing a much harder sport to do in the games which was  Rhythmic gymnastic. before they started they put up a pretty cool video of girls doing impossible  move to do. But when the teacher’s tried to do it i felt like it easy because they couldn't even do a twirl.

Team 4 I think for me was the best because they did a mash potato competition which was pretty cool the competitiveness where Jamaica,Canada,Scotland and India. The contender that wanted to win was the Jamaican because he look funky. The first person to go out was Canadian because his sculpted looked like a mountain the winner is Jamaican because he did a smiley face.

Team 5 was properly my second best because they went all around the world. They went to chili,NY,Spain,Samoa. I felt a bit jalise because mostly all the teacher went on holiday but you know what it was alright at home.

Some of the week’s class 5 has been doing swimming lessons at the glen innes aquatic center . We go  there because we need help to learn how to swim. So if we were far from the shore line  drowning we would know what to do we can swim to the shore because our instructor taught us how to swim.

We have already  gone swimming. But our class was just taking over another class swimming time because they weren't  going on there time. Splish splash kicking the water from off the edge of the pool today “class 5 will be having swimming lessons today” our instructor says

We walk back to school  at five mins to three o'clock. When we get back to class we grab our bag and go home.

Plant and food research

Rushing in the  line immediately I see class 5 , 4 and 3 walking into the street I was eager to look what was going on when I saw three amazing people named  Jacob,Lora and Lara from Plant and food research they came to our school to share different things about their work and why they to it and maybe show us some experiments.

Sitting on a bean bag I look over and see them doing an experiment with purple cabbage juice and vinegar the main thing about this experiment was that they can change the color of the fruit by adding a base combined to it.

after they did that experiment with the purple cabbage juice and white vinegar they start doing knew experiment with dry ice and hot water then Jacob tipped the hot water and dried ice in a lab bottle and it bubbled up like a volcanic eruption.

The last experiment that they showed was is it  solid, liquid or gas or in between. I choose liquid because It looked like dish washing liquid

Future aspiration speakers

Today the whole of team 5 were visited by special future aspiration speaker's named Arizona,Jason,Alfred and Andrew. They came to inspire us kids about our future which lies before us. As they were arriving we were singing a song called mihi maria. As they step in to the street everyone clapped and cheered and made a pathway for them  to walk through.

The  speaker who inspired me was Arizona.She inspired  me because she is a lot like me she talk’s lot and when the teacher tells her to stop she keep on talking. But that’s not the only thing

she inspired me because of her speech the when she  said that her mouth got her where she is now.

The job  I what to do when i older is a game tester because you can test games and have fun while you're doing it and also know which games are going to come out. But I think to do game testing you would have to put in the hard yards.

A.F.L Every Thursdays in the hall we have (A.F.L) which stand for Australian football league. Our Instructor’s names is Tim. Tim teachers moves to our class like faces away from laces which means the lace of the ball has to be away from your head,point your toe to where you want the ball to go so that means if you point your toe to the person that you want the ball to go to it will go straight to them and lastly the ice cream scoop.

Every time we play A.F.L our coach Tim would tell us that we would always have to do warm ups so we can get warm so we can take off our jackets and we will be warm. The first warm up game we did was called traffic lights the game was called that because our coach would be in the middle saying Green which means go, Yellow which means slow down and of course red which means stop. But some times when he says red which means stop some kids would still go which means they would have got a speeding ticket from the police.

Even this week we have it and  bet you it going to be fun because Tim showed us last week how to pass better and more straighter than i could before. this week I think Tim will be on a little break and we would get a new instructor because on our first session was with a girl named Emily but i think Tim is way more better than her.

Usually our time with our instructors would only be 45 minutes but it feels like it only 10 minutes when we're having so much fun. I like it when it we go to play A.F.L because we get less time to do school work and more time having fun but that's just  why I like playing A.F.L I like playing it because i get to show off my skills.

My goals for 2014

My goals for 2014 is to achieve! This year I am going to try and achieve the following goals so I can be better in my last year at Pt England School.

1. To get better at reading .

2. To try and be the best at rugby

3. I would also like to try and improve on my writing.

4.  Last but not least, I  would like to improve on my behaviour unlike what I did last year. If I improve my behaviour I think I will get better marks on my report.

My holidays

Water all over me I had no choice but to jump in “Bombs away” I said when I got inside the pool I Swam deep down when i got near the bottom I could feel the water rushing up against me. Up I went to take  breath.Then back down as I was swimming my cousin said lets go so I springed  out like a bouncing kangaroo  walked to my bag and got changed and went to his house I ask his mum if I could stay the night here  and it was a yes. “This

holiday can not get any better I say Nek minute were mcdonalds for dinner yes again”

What start’s with batmin and end’s with ton can you guess badminton that’s what. Today The year 7 & 8 kid’s from ptengland school went to a badminton session in the hall our tutor’s name was Rob he played for the Auckland badminton team he talked for little while and gave the badminton bats out . Eagerly waiting for a bat and shuttle I bragged to my friends that “I'm  the best at a badminton”

The first Lesson that my class did was learning our hand movement like Backhand and many more that I can not remember. looking at at Rob as he is teaching the hand movements I suddenly get bored so I try and entertain myself by playing with my bat and shuttle “1 bounce 2 bounce 3 bounce fail snap” I say out loud “ow kid” Rob say’s as

I reply “yeah” are you listening” “yip”. After he was finished talking we had to get are

partner and hit it to them.

The person I picked was one of my best friend Bailee bell which I think is

better than me at badminton na jokes “i’ll beat him any day i think” anyway

let back to writing so I got my partner and we made a competition of who

could the most hit’s in one go. The most hit’s I did was 18 my friend got 21

but i was just going easy.

Good morning and welcome back to school Pt England kids.The theme for this year is I LIKE TO MOVE IT MOVE IT!said Mr Burt "I'm a the balloon man’’ because in assembly hall there were heaps and heaps of balloons under a peace of tape. Little kids were trying to touch them and play with them.

As Mr Burt was talking he was holding a little new York taxis up which was a toy and it had balloons

on it. I think the amount of balloons which were on it was 15 then then Mr Burt told Levi and Isara had to put more balloons on it to make it float in to the air the amount on the balloons then was 17 up up anyway the balloon taxi went floating then all the prefects went around cut the rest of balloons and they went floating as well.

Empathy collage

Five weeks ago class 5 made colleges about Empathy to show what Empathy means. First thing we had to do was go online and get some pictures to show Empathy. As soon as we finished we got a  piece of paper and started to draw. The colours of my college were  Pink,Purple and green I choose those colours because they're my favorite. Putting on pictures and colouring it in I show my mates and they say it cool. My favorite thing about doing collages is that I can colour it in  so it can look cool. 5 weeks later they were all finished and were hanged up on the wall so everyone can look at them.

Going out to eat in the weekend

Driving out to eat on the weekends it sunny summers day we stop at Mcdonald's to have little play. Then I get called to go to the menu bar  they ask what you want to order then I reply a big fat mcchicken burger with side of coke and big fat chips as I lick my lips. as they pass it over I say my thanks and I head for the door without a hesitant. I say bye to Mcdonald's until next week. And after I ate my food I was glad to see  Mcdonald's once again has made a meen feed.

Movie in the Park

On Friday Down at ptengland beach I went  to movies in the park. The movie that we were watching was cloudy with chance of meatballs 2. When I first arrived I found a place to sit. About 30 minutes later the MOVIE began.

As the movie started I couldn't see because Some one was blocking my view. I ask if he could move but he couldn't hear me so I ask him again But he still couldn't hear me so I got up  and moved away to anther place I sat down and put my blanket down and start to watch the movie as I say to myself "Finally"

This term class 5 made posters about Empathy. We picked our pictures that we were going to we use which our teacher Ms Paget would then printed them out.Our slides had to show Empathy.Our posters were about how we can show Empathy and What it means to put yourself in someone else's shoes.

Empathy means caring for others when they're feeling down,lonely or heart we show Empathy and care for them,put yourself in there shoes,feel the pain that they

are in and do something about it or seek help those are ways you can show Empathy.

On my poster I have two elephants holding trunks,a girl thats feeling down and another girl

helps her,shoes for putting yourself in some else shoes, and  the and words empathy. Those are things on my poster which I think that shows empathy.

Collage

My hobby

Since I was six I have been dancing I dance in my room, by the mirror, I dance in shows

and at my school. I like to dance because it brings out the inner me like for instance if you chucked on any song I would freestyle to it even if you put on jazz I would still freestyle  

The thing that inspired me to dance was dancing Movies like Step up,stomp the yard,you got served ,Take the lead and my big sister. Those are the list of movies and family that inspired me. Watching clips,movies,and live performances have really helped me to learn

to pin drop, head slid , techno, and puzzle which  are quite hard.

I think that dancing has helped me to succeed in things and help me to be who I am now and I know that I can make into a big dance crew like the royal family but most of all it's about having fun and winning.  

What I like about my community

The thing like about Glen innes is the schools but one school in particular and that Pt England school because it’s fun and you get to make movies but most of all I get to play with my friends. Ptengland school is one of the best school in Glen innes because were good at sports we have net books a we got and 100,000 dollars from will i am but most of all we have a cool principle which is Mr Burt.
